Now, to make matters worse and in honor of Friday the 13th, I really wanted to give my LJ something to chew on and so trying out the brand new spn_fridayfive. Go check it out if you haven't already ;)
At least this way, I have a reason to write
!!The following includes spoilers up to In My Time of Dying!!
1. Who in the Supernatural world can you relate to the most? Why?
Dean. Now, before everyone starts raising their eyebrows, let me explain. Well, it’s not because we share the same zodiac sign even though I find that quite reassuring. Mainly, it’s his position, his function in the family, his though exterior. I’m the younger sibling but let’s just say our roles were reversed and I kinda ended up cleaning the mess my rebellious brother tended to leave behind on a regular basis. Willingly so usually. Most of the time I don’t have a problem with it, that’s just how we work I guess. He’s also the one wearing his emotions on the outside whereas I tend to not share them so freely for everyone to see. There’s a number of other parallels that I don’t want to bore you to death with. So, yeah, Dean’s my man *cheers*
Makes sense that I adore Sam so much - he’s the perfect counterpart ;)
2. What do you think has been the scariest monster of the week in Season One?
Bloody Mary. Come on, we all have one or the other bodies stored in our basement. I guess it’s just a metaphor for living with your own mistakes.
3. If Jess had never died, do you think Sam would still have (eventually) joined the search for John?
Emphasis on eventually here…or no, scratch that. Let’s make it maybe. After all, it was Sam’s strive for revenge for Jessica's death that threw him back into the hunt full force. Clearly, he’d enjoyed the Woman in White case but he chose to return to his normal life – Jess, the job interview – even though they weren’t any closer to knowing what happened to John then.
Maybe if the visions of the demon came to him after all, he might hava dug into them - learning the truth. If that were enough to make him joining Dean I have no idea.
4. Why do you think Dean's eyes were bleeding in Bloody Mary?
Do I look psychic? Seriously, I won’t exhaust my brain with making up theories about it. I leave that to the people who get paid for it. Even though I gotta say, the writers pretty much left us hanging with that as of now. Well, if everything fails, I should crave for ideas, I'll just go dig up the metas I read of it again :)
5. What do you think of John's role as a father? Do you believe he neglected his kids and should have done better, or that he did the best he could under the circumstances?
We’re all flawed, it’s part of being human. I don’t think of him as a bad father at all in fact I really liked his character. They had several scenes that showed how much he loved his sons, in fact he traded his life for one of his boys’ in the end. And who knows if after death he isn’t still paying the price.
Basically, I’m sure he meant well with what he did – sometimes he might didn’t try hard enough but we can’t really hate him for making mistakes, right?
Everything John believed in, the world as he knew it ended the moment his wife was killed. And even though I’m not utterly fond of the way he pushed Sam and Dean into a hunter’s life, I’m pretty sure it’ll save their lives sooner or later. Evil came upon their family for a reason and all they know about what goes bump in the night will be of great benefit to them.
Stories like this don't go without a major kick-ass showdown and I'm sure everything will come down to it in the end.
Now, there is that. I'm off to sports now :)
