David Gray live in Cologne
David Gray - one of the most fulfilling live acts, period. Fierce lyrics, haunting melodies and catchy tunes. Lost in his music - captive to its will - and yet right there with the audience. Always in motion, it's hard watching David and not start tapping in time with the beat, too. The engaged audience was certainly liked by David as well who visibly enjoyed playing on the piano's mixing desk while the audience was clapping their hands to Please Forgive Me, the last song of the evening. Go see him live, or you're missing out big time.

Other highlights included Sail Away (which had even the last one in the room sing along), Draw the Line, This Year's Love (an all-time favorite), The Other Side and a stunningly beautiful performance of Nemesis.

He sure is a musician best heard live. I've been to so many concerts where I was disappointed to find the singer(s) suck on stage while having good studio records. Gladly, David Gray rocks live and you could really tell that the break he took really only made him come back with more energy to burn :)
